چکیده

A concise review of the status of research on short-lived nuclei is presented. The importance of these nuclei is very great in spite of the fact that they are essentially absent today (except for cosmic ray products). The significance of these nuclei for understanding broader cosmic problems is outlined and it is shown that they are a key to the earliest processes in solar system formation and possibly provide a link with pre solar processes in the interstellar medium or of intense activity of the early sun.

Searching for Extinct Chlorine-36 in Enstatite Chondrites: New Constraints on the Distribution of Short-lived Nuclides in the Solar Nebula

Introduction: The origin of short-lived nuclides in the solar nebula is a long standing controversial issue. There are two major explanations: injection from neighboring supernovae or AGB stars [1-3], or in situ irradiation of nebular dust and gas by solar energetic particles (SEP) [4-7]. The distribution of short-lived nuclides in the solar nebula is a key test of these models. Unlike

Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare

More than 400 years after its first appearance in London, Much Ado about Nothing remains a popular stage play with both actors and audiences. Perhaps its success stems from Shakespeare’s compelling presentation of a number of themes with universal appeal, especially those related to courtship and marriage. In the plot of Much Ado young romantic love and faith at first fail, but ultimately true ...

THE Cs-Ba CHRONOMETER AND THE ORIGIN OF EXTINCT NUCLIDES IN THE SOLAR

Introduction: A number of now extinct shortlived nuclides, with half-lives ranging from ~10 (Ca) to 10 years (Sm), were present in the early Solar System and provide constraints on chronometry, nucleosynthetic sources of early Solar System materials and provide a tool for identifying the environment where the Solar System formed (such as isolated star formation versus formation in a cluster of ...

Short-lived p-nuclides in the early solar system and implications on the nucleosynthetic role of X-ray binaries

The data available for short-lived p-nuclides are used in an open nonlinear model of the chemical evolution of the Galaxy in order to discuss the origin of extinct radionuclides, the stellar sources of p-nuclides, and the chronology of solar system formation. It is concluded that the observed abundances of Tc, Tc, Nb, and Sm in the early solar system are consistent with nucleosynthesis in type ...
